Initiative originale et surprenante de la part de Yan Li, maire de Mercepolis. Il a décidé d’initier la ré-orchestration de notre hymne national, l’estimant « peu en phase avec la modernité ». Un appel est donc lancé aux compositeurs du monde entier pour proposer une mise en musique contemporaine des paroles écrites en leur temps par Osamu Rahimic :
O, proud and mighty city in the sun

Great is the love we have for thee

Glory to thee, motherland of mine
May for ever thy greatness shine
upon the banks of the Rorowaiaru
upon our hearts faithful and true

Les compositions (une reprise a cappela des paroles est également admise) doivent être envoyées avant la fin du mois d’août au secrétariat central de Mercepolis city state (mercepolis@gmail.com). Le nouvel hymne sera présenté pour la première fois en public à l’occasion de la fête nationale du 10 septembre.
